Reading Partners’ mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results. Work 1-1 with a struggling reader in SIlicon Valley.
We help low-income students move toward reading proficiency by helping them develop mastery of key reading skills through data-informed, curriculum-driven, one-on-one volunteer tutoring. Reading Partners is the only national nonprofit organization with a program model that is a complete package of a Tier-2 literacy intervention with one-on-one instruction provided by trained community volunteers in schools.
We run our program in 15 underresouced Title-I elementary schools in Redwood City, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and San Jose. Reading Partners is in need of volunteer tutors who can commit at least 1 hour a week to help a student in need. Tutoring sessions are held on the elementary school campuses Monday-Thursday from 8:30-5pm.
