We Continue: Suicide Prevention Empowerment

Multi-quarter part-time
Health,
Identity

We are a peer-led student group working to empower the Stanford community in addressing suicide by creating safety nets within our community. We educate students on how to recognize and approach other peers who may be considering suicide, as well as equip them with the skills to respond. We aim to create a sustainable, educated atmosphere of care and understanding on campus regarding the sensitive issue of suicide and suicidal ideation. We are trained and qualified in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and offer peer-based, peer-led suicide response training workshops to dorms, communities and other student organizations.

Service required by group to fulfill a Cardinal Commitment: Members can lead dorm or community workshops, SPLASH workshops, or high school workshops, as well as plan and host destigmatizing events related to suicidal ideation. The commitment is for at least 3 quarters.
