Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI)

The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI), one of only 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country, is seeking student volunteers to assist with a Community Health Needs Assessment. This project aims to gather quantitative and qualitative information about the impact of cancer in our Bay Area communities. We hope to utilize this assessment to examine risk factors for cancer and identify issues for action, such as improving cancer screening rates. This process will be vital in the development of an action plan for the SCI and is an invaluable tool to engage and involve the public in solving problems related to cancer disparities that directly impact community members. Our goal is to enable communities to contribute to the overall improvement of their health.
