About the organization
Nuestra Casa has been serving the needs of the immigrant Latino/x population who reside within East Palo Alto and the mid-peninsula of the Bay Area since our inception in 2002. Our mission is to uplift Latino/x families in East Palo Alto and the mid-peninsula through community education, leadership development, and advocacy. Nuestra Casa’s programming also serves low-income residents and is community-led and informed.

Valley Verde is dedicated to building healthy and resilient communities by providing low-income families educational programs, edible gardens, and micro-entrepreneurship opportunities that create food security and lead to self-sufficiency. We accomplish this by providing home garden supplies, monthly gardening workshops, mentorship, and garden visits to address the needs of food access and insecurity in the community.

The Center for Human Rights and International Justice is pleased to offer Human Rights Summer Fellowships for students to work in partnership with a relevant organization or through community-based research, with the guidance and supervision of Stanford faculty. Stipends of up to $6,000 are available to undergraduates who commit to working full-time (35 hours/week) for a minimum of nine weeks either in the United States or abroad during the summer quarter. Placements ensure students have meaningful, applied research and work opportunities to inform their studies and future career pathways.
