Stanford Initiative for Domestic Abuse Prevention (SIDAP)
Provide academic tutoring to teens in CORA's supportive housing circuit and educational workshops to Bay Area high schoolers
Stanford Initiative for Domestic Abuse Prevention (SIDAP) is a voluntary student organization dedicated to advocating for domestic abuse prevention and mentoring affected youth. We partner with Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) — a San Mateo-based 501©(3) nonprofit — to train high school ambassadors on domestic violence awareness and guide young individuals through college applications and academic challenges. CORA also invites volunteers to support them in a variety of other avenues, such as in their data infrastructure systems and research areas, as well as court visitations and supply drives. Stanford volunteers receive 40-hour certification and hands-on experience that fosters civic engagement and leadership skills. Our efforts focus on Bay Area high schools and safe houses, providing both virtual and in-person support.
Join us in our mission to provide essential support to youth impacted by domestic abuse today!
