Stanford Climate and Health
Stanford Climate and Health promotes education, advocacy, research, and dialogue at the intersection of climate change, environmental health, and sustainable healthcare.
Stanford Climate and Health provides a platform for the Stanford community to address the urgent intersections of climate change, planetary and environmental health, and sustainable healthcare. Through advocacy, education, dialogue, and research, we empower students, faculty, and professionals to take meaningful action in shaping a healthier, more sustainable future.
Our projects focus on integrating climate change into medical and residency education, ensuring future healthcare providers are equipped to address climate-related health impacts. We are advancing sustainability initiatives at Stanford hospitals and clinics, including researching and implementing safe, cost-effective reusable medical gowns to reduce healthcare waste. Our partnerships with environmental justice communities emphasize health equity and community empowerment, recognizing that marginalized communities bear disproportionate climate burdens. Additionally, we are organizing a symposium on climate and pandemic resilience, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration on these pressing global challenges.
By bringing together passionate individuals across disciplines, Stanford Climate and Health seeks to drive innovative solutions that promote environmental sustainability and health justice. We believe that climate action is health action, and through our collective efforts, we aim to create lasting systemic change.
