Stanford Cancer Caregiver Collective (SCCC)

Educate students on how to best provide support and a sense of community for children going through a parent’s cancer journey

SCCC cover

The Stanford Cancer Caregiver Collective will raise awareness of the impact that cancer has on a patient’s family. We will disseminate behavioral, emotional, and financial resources to the Stanford community on how to care for children and families of cancer patients. We plan to host fundraisers, host guest speakers, and workshop sessions that provide more insight of the impact of a patient’s cancer situation on their children. We hope to partner with local cancer-related organizations in the Bay Area to understand the different facets of cancer care and support. The skills and knowledge learned will be widely applicable to supporting grief in general, fostering a combination of empathy and leadership skills within students.
