Stanford Black Student Union (SBSU)

Organize community dialogues, safe spaces, leadership opportunities, and wellness activities to strengthen Black student connections and support

SBSU cover

The Stanford Black Student Union (BSU) is a Black-culture-centered organization dedicated to creating a community and educational space for Black-identifying students. We strive to connect Black students, celebrate Black culture, and serve as a platform for Black voices.

Programming Highlights

Our main annual events are:

  1. Black Frosh Convocation: A formal dinner and program welcoming and celebrating new Black frosh and transfer students with musical performances and speeches on the importance of Black excellence.
  2. Black Love Concert: Our Valentine’s Day and Black History Month concert, featuring Stanford musical performers and a surprise celebrity artist, with a theme rooted in an aspect of Black culture.
  3. Black High School Conference: An educational event for Black high school students to learn from Stanford students through workshops, speakers, and panels.

Anything else you want to add? Want to be a part of the community?

BSU traditionally meets every other week in the BCSC Community Room. We welcome all Stanford students to join us for free food and community! Follow us on Instagram to keep up with regular programming! @stanfordbsuofficial
