Past, Present, and Future: Lessons from COVID-19
This course aims to reflect on the COVID-19 pandemic and consider how our experience with this pandemic can reshape American healthcare and improve preparation for future microbial threats. We will discuss key moments in the COVID-19 pandemic and evaluate societal and economic impacts, effective responses and innovations, and lessons that can be carried forward to improve healthcare access, equity, and public health now and in the future. Students will engage in lectures from faculty in the School of Medicine and guest lecturers who worked on the COVID-19 response at the local, state, and federal levels.
