Music Enriching the Lives of Developing Youth (MELODY)
Provide one-on-one piano lessons to students at Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto in order to support their music program.
Music Enriching the Lives of Developing Youth (MELODY) works in direct service with students at Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto, providing one-on-one piano lessons to supplement Eastside’s music program. The program’s vision is to provide consistent, individual instruction to students in order to uplift music education in local communities that would not otherwise have access to private lessons. Lesson books and keyboards are available at Eastside, and volunteers are given the freedom to design and lead their own lessons.
Requirements
- MELODY volunteers should have a background in piano. Prior experience in teaching piano is not required, but is a plus.
- All MELODY volunteers must get a LiveScan background check to be sent to Eastside in order to work with minors.
