J Street U

Multi-quarter part-time
Human Rights

J Street U is a Pro-Israel, Pro-Palestinian, Pro-Peace student organization dedicated to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

We are a group that focuses on community organizing and activism. We are linked to a national J Street U movement that has a unified campaign this year called "Stop Demolitions, Build Peace" designed to pressure the Israeli government to stop targeted demolitions of Palestinian communities in Area C of the West Bank. We, as a Stanford chapter, have Jaba al Baba as our community of focus. We provide students opportunities to attend speaker events on campus to learn about the issue, participate in social media campaigns, join national strategy-planning calls, attend a regional workshop to learn tools of organizing, travel to DC for a national convention, lobby Congressmen, and work with Palestinians and Israelis over Skype to better understand how we can help promote a two-state solution in the U.S.

Service required by group to fulfill a Cardinal Commitment: Students should attend a minimum of 1 workshop, 6 events and/or weekly planning meetings, and 2 national strategy calls.
