Climate Resilient Communities
In the Bay Area, as throughout the world, under-resourced communities are disproportionately vulnerable to climate change impacts. Working with the frontline communities of East Palo Alto, North Fair Oaks, and Belle Haven (Menlo Park), CRC’s outreach seeks to cultivate environmental awareness, give local residents a voice in resilience planning and adaptation, and connect residents with local government programs and nonprofits providing free home repair, weatherization, and solar installation services.
Our volunteers work on projects related to all aspects of CRC’s work and programming, and we strive to provide students with a fulfilling experience that both benefits CRC and fits with the volunteers’ interests and goals. Potential tasks might include conducting research, working on outreach materials and projects, or developing content for our website or social media, but we can collaboratively determine a scope depending on student interest.
