Law, Policy & Justice

Through the Cardinal Careers Community Impact Fellowship, graduating seniors and coterms work in full-time, 10- to 12-month paid positions in nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area, with occasional placements in other cities throughout the United States.  Fellows are paid a stipend plus health insurance coverage as needed.

The 2022-23 Community Impact partner organizations will submit job description for students to review, and applicants are encouraged to select several organizations to maximize their chance for securing a Community Impact position. Partner organizations review finalist applications, arrange interviews, and make final hiring decisions. Please note that Haas Center staff does not necessarily have direct experience with, nor do we professionally endorse, partner organizations.

2023-24 Community Impact Partners and Placements can be found here

The Cardinal Careers Community Impact Fellowship program aims to:

  • recruit talented students to work in public service;
  • engage alumni working in and committed to public service; and
  • assist public interest organizations in finding qualified staff.

Please note that we do require a letter of recommendation for this fellowship, the letter should be from someone that is able to attest to your fitness for a professional work environment, your ability to think creatively and your capacity for leadership.
