Camp Kesem at Stanford

Our organization aims to provide high quality services to Bay Area children whose parents or guardians have been affected by cancer. In a week-long sleep-away camp setting in Northern California, we aim to provide children with the ability to just be children again, through a series of fun activities, with the shared understanding that all the campers there have had an intimate experience with cancer in their family. Through our year-round support, we aim to remind children and their families that they are never alone in the troubles they may face, and that they always have people who love them and are there to support them. All services provided by Camp Kesem at Stanford are provided entirely free of charge.

Service required by group to fulfill a Cardinal Commitment: 

•  Attend week of camp in early June
• Attend all trainings (5 or more) in Spring Quarter
• Attend weekend counselor retreat in Winter Quarter
• Actively spread the news of what camp is to their peers, colleagues and faculty
• Attend Make the Magic Fundraising Gala as student support worker
• Assist in the fundraising efforts required of the Camp Kesem at Stanford operation
